Merion Village - Columbus, Ohio

About

Neighborhoods change. They are never static. No matter how much we’d like to preserve the past, or keep what we have, the fact is, everything changes. Even when we have the opportunity to preserve key elements, we can now do so with newer technologies.

A blog for Merion Village is one of the latest technologies that will benefit the neighborhood and it’s residents. While a newsletter may be available for those who subscribe, it is static and an example of “one way media”.

Blogging for an entire neighborhood allows discussions to continue outside of traditional meetings and meeting times. It offers an opportunity for everyone to have a voice, and for their voice to bring both evolutionary as well as revolutionary ideas to the virtual table. It offers greater diversity, and through this diversity, a stronger and more robust discussion.

As a new resident to Merion Village, I am excited to find this blog! I hope to become active in the neighborhood, and look forward to the dialogue and exchange of ideas in this medium.

I don’t know if you can do this, but maybe you can help someway. Our church, the Thurman Ave. U.M Church at the corner of Washington and Thurman Ave. is offering a free beginner course in basic computer use beginning on Tuesday, March 3 from 6:00 p.m. till 7:30. I would like to put this ad in the Merion Village newspaper, can you help me with some information as to who I would contact and the cost? Thank You. Linda VanLangen, 443-1218
